How to configure my @mail2web.com mailbox as POP or IMAP

1. In Outlook, choose the File tab.

2. Under Account Information, choose Add Account.

3. On the Auto Account Setup page, choose Manual setup or additional server types, and then click Next.

4. On the Choose Service page, choose POP or IMAP and click Next.

5. Next, on the POP and IMAP Account Settings page, enter the following information:

  • Your name: Enter a display name (usually this is your first and last name)
  • Email Address: Your full email address
  • Account type: POP or IMAP
  • Incoming mail server: ex7.mail2web.com
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): ex7.mail2web.com
  • User Name: Your full email address
  • Password: Your e-mail account password
  • Select the Remember password check box
  • Do NOT select the Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check box

6. Click More Settings to open the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box

7. Go to the Outgoing Server tab and make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is NOT checked.

8. Go to the Advanced tab and enter:

POP:

  • Incoming server port (POP): 995, Encryption: SSL
  • Outgoing server port (SMTP): 465, Encryption: SSL 
  • Alternative Incoming server port (POP): 110, Encryption: None
  • Alternative Outgoing server port (SMTP): 25 or 587, Encryption: None

IMAP:

  • Incoming server port (IMAP): 993, Encryption: SSL
  • Outgoing server port (SMTP): 465, Encryption: SSL
  • Alternative Incoming server port (IMAP): 143, Encryption: None 
  • Alternative Outgoing server port (SMTP): 25 or 587, Encryption: None

 

9. Click OK to save the settings and to return to the POP and IMAP Account Settings page.

10. Click Next, and then verify that all tests complete successfully. Click Close to continue.

11. On the You’re all set! page, click Finish.

When an Outlook app is installed on your computer, you can use it to move email, contacts, and calendar items from one email account to another. You export items by creating a .pst file, which is an Outlook Data File that contains your messages and other Outlook items and is saved on your computer.

 

Export items to a .pst file in Outlook 2007

  1. In Outlook 2007, at the top of your ribbon choose File.

    If your ribbon doesn't have a File option in the top left corner.

  2. Choose Import and Export.

  3. Select Export to a file, and then click Next.

  4. Click Personal File Folder (.pst), and then click Next.

  5. Select the name of the email account to export, as shown in the picture below. Only information for one account can be exported information at a time.

    Make sure that the Include subfolders check box is selected. This way everything in the account will be exported: Calendar, Contacts, and Inbox. Choose Next.

  6. Click Browse to select where you want to save the Outlook Data File (.pst) and to enter a file name. Click OK to continue.

    Note: If you have previously used the export feature, the previous folder location and file name appear. Make sure that you change the file name if you want to create a new file instead of using the existing file.

  7. If you are exporting to an existing Outlook Data File (.pst), under Options, specify what to do when exporting items that already exist in the file.

  8. Click Finish.

  9. The export begins immediately ... unless you're creating a new Outlook Data File (.pst) or you're exporting is to an existing .pst file that is password protected. In those cases you'll get this dialog box:

    Choose OK if you don't want to password protect your file. Otherwise:

    • If you want to password protect your .pst file: enter the password in the Password and Verify Password boxes, and then click OK. In the Outlook Data File Password dialog box, enter the password, and then click OK.

    • If you are exporting to an existing Personal File Folder (.pst) that is password protected, in the Outlook Data File Password dialog box, enter the password, and then click OK.

 

Import a .pst file in Outlook 2007

  1. At the top of your Outlook ribbon, select File and choose Import and Export.

  2. Select Import from another program or file, and then click Next.

  3. Select Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.

  4. Browse to the .pst file you want to import. Under Options, choose how you want to deal with emails and contacts, then choose Next.

  5. If a password was assigned to the Outlook Data File (.pst), enter the password, and then click OK.

  6. Click Include sub folders so you include Contacts, Calendar, Drafts etc and then click Finish. Outlook will now start to imports all your data back. The amount of time this will take will vary on your computers specs and the size of the .pst file that you are importing..
