[onCloud] Configure Mail

 Goal

Now that you have created your email address with us, you most likely want to configure it with your favourite mail program.  There are many mail programs available, and as such we cannot go through all of them; however, we will cover how to configure the required settings with the most popular mail program Microsoft Outlook.

Locate your settings

First log in to your Control Panel at http://manage.myhosting.com and select your subscription on the dropdown list on the upper right of the page.

There, click on the black Exchange Email tab up top. You will see a list of your existing email accounts.

There you can click on the display name link of any address you wish to configure. In my example it would be the ssfs link.

POP3/ IMAP4

Once you click on the link, you will see a list of details about your account. Scroll down to the bottom to the Mailbox Access section.

You will see the various protocols that are available on your account; whether you are configuring a POP3 or IMAP4 connection, simply click the View setup info link to the right of it.

When you click on it, you will see a page with detailed instructions on completing the setup with your mail program. Most of the popular mail programs are available for setup.

In the case that you have an exchange server, the setup is very simple as you will use Auto Discover to complete the setup.

First open your outlook application to start the setup

Exchange

To configure your mail client you must first find the Account Settings area. In most cases you will find this under the Tools menu option. For the program that we will be using for a demonstration it is found under the File menu, and then the Account Settings button.

Click this button and then click on Account Settings. Now click on the New button in order to add a new account to your existing list.

Click Next on the new page leaving the option in E-mail Account.

The next screen will ask for your Display Name, Email Address, and Password; simply fill them out, click next, and allow the system to automatically configure itself.  Once it is completed your inbox should start populating with any mail that may be on the server.  If you do not have any, please try testing by sending a message to a known address.

Conclusion

Now that you have configured your mail account with our server, you will be able to send and receive with our system. Please note that you can access mail not yet retrieved by your application when you are not at home by accessing http://mail2web.com. Simply enter your email address and password to check or send mail.
